Consignment and Thrift are often used interchangeably, however they are very different stores and experiences.
Consignment is a curated, hand selected offering of designer, boutique and trending brands that are in NEW or next to new condition. Consignment boutiques look for items that have been purchased new in the past 2 years and are current, on trend and in season. They only accept items that they feel have a good chance of selling. Items are inspected, steamed and beautifully merchandised for sale. Customers are able to shop with confidence knowing that quality is of the utmost importance.
Thrift items tend to be of lesser quality, show signs of wear and are not freshly cleaned. Thrift stores usually rely on volume and accept most everything that is brought in to them. Items are not inspected, steamed and can have stains, damage & odours.
As a Consignment Boutique, Serendipitys may not be able to accept all items that are brought in and we may not able to offer everyone an account. We value quality over quantity in both our in store offerings as well as our consignor relationships. We greatly appreciate your understanding that this is purely a business decision and not a personal reflection or opinion about you or your items.

As a Consignment Boutique we accept designer, boutique and trending brands only. Here is a list of BRANDS THAT WE LOVE and examples of BRANDS THAT WE ARE NOT ABLE TO ACCEPT. These decisions are based upon historical sales and what are shopping clientele are looking for.
**PLEASE DO NOT BRING US ITEMS THAT YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO PART WITH**
You may drop a maxium of 20 items at a time every 2 weeks. Items must be purchased new in the last 2 years, freshly washed with no visible signs of wear (i.e. stains, rips, tears, missing components and odours.) We are unable to accept items from a smoking environment (cigarette & marijuana) even if you smoke outside of your home as the odour lingers. All items must be free of wrinkles, line & pet hair. All items must be neatly folded in a laundry hamper, box or tote, please no hangers as this slows down the process.
On your contract you will indicate whether you want items not selected for sale to be donated to charity or returned to you. We do not sort items at drop off. If you select that you want items returned to you, you will receive an email within the next few days, indicating that there are items to be picked up. You will have 2 business days to pick up your returned items. If they are not picked up within this time frame, they will be donated to charity without further notice. Due to storage limitations this is strictly adhered to and no exceptions may be made. We appreciate your understanding as this is a safety issue.

We pride ourselves in quality of our clothing as well as our Customer and Consignor relationships. Our priority is always quality over quantity and as such we are just not able to offer everyone and account, nor accept every item that is dropped off. We greatly appreciate your understanding.
